Episode 11: Ryoma VS Momoshiro

The episode started with Sakuno and Tomoko looking for Ryoma to cheer him for the upcoming preliminaries, neither of them were successful. So they opted to grab a snack on a local burger chain where they found (surprise! surprise!) their beloved Ryoma-sama. Momo-chan entered the burger chain too and saw Ryoma who's currently at the counter waiting to be served. They greeted each other when suddenly a mysterious girl appeared and talked to them. She appeared to be very knowledgeable about tennis clubs around the area and at the same time Seigaku's tennis club and she was wondering out of the blue who would be Seigaku's Singles 3 when both Fuji-senpai and Tezuka-senpai are Singles 2 and Singles 1 respectively. At that, she left because her order was called and left the question hanging in the air between the two tennis players.

The question about who will be the one playing Singles 3 fired the two regulars and they ordered an order more than the other, this mock-fight continued for a while. At last, they were able to order and take their food onto their table. They weren't finished fighting yet, they're now racing each other on who will finish their foods first. This childish behaviour went on and on until both Sakuno and Tomoka noticed their fight and commented about their strange aura. Surprisingly, they both stayed on their seats and did not bother either Momo-senpai or Ryoma. After eating (it was already night-time when they finished), they were both so tired from eating and very full. They were on a bridge contemplating on who will be chosen as the player for Singles 3. They contemplated that it would be either Kaido, Kawamura, Momo-senpai or Ryoma. Suddenly, they stood up and decided that they need to play somewhere to ease their tension.

So off they go to find someplace where they can play and not be disrupted. Which led them to a street tennis court where anyone is allowed to play. The problem is, there seems to be many players and the courts were used for Doubles only. Suddenly two random guys approached them and explained the rules, which were: to continue playing, you must defeat doubles players who challenge them and the loser would get out of the court. Of course, being the great challengers they were, agreed to this and took on the challenge. Surprisingly, the first two doubles-pair challengers they had were easily defeated by Ryoma's twist serve and their awesome returns. Suddenly the two random guys earlier stood up to them, now with a name Fukawa-Izumi pair and challenged them. They are apparently, the best doubles-pair there and they saw too many holes on Ryoma-Momo pair. One hole they saw is that they're weak on the center line so they're always attacking Ryoma-Momo there. Once, when a ball slipped by Momoshiro and headed to the far left corner of Echizen and Echizen just ignored it, Momo reprimanded Ryoma saying that it's his job to guard the lower half of their side of court and suddenly, Ryoma popped up the question while pointing to the furthest borderline of the court, "Momo-senpai, when playing doubles, it's that line, isn't it?". Momoshiro was flabbergasted to know that it's Ryoma's first time to play doubles. The match ended with Ryoma-Momoshiro on the losing side. In the end, they took back everything they said about being the player for Singles 3 and they both said at the same time, "Doubles are for real men". Undoubtedly, they took a shine in playing doubles.
