Episode 35: Drive B

Okay, so Yuuta's Twist Spin shot appeared. Ryoma wasn't able to hit it because of it's awesome bounce. To say the least, Ryoma's in a pinch right now. The Siegaku regulars were also worried for Ryoma, they know that there's no possible way that Ryoma could counter Yuuta's Super Rising which was then followed by his Twist Spin Shot. Suddenly, out of the blue, after Yuuta hit Ryoma with one of his Twist Spin Shot, Ryoma decided to try copying Yuuta's Super Rising. Inui and the others were, again, worried about the outcome since it would be possible that the ball might hit Ryoma's face if he missed the shot.

Ryoma tried it, Mizuki almost laughed since he knew that it would out of bounds because Ryoma's way of handling his racket when trying the Super Rising is completely wrong. Mizuki was right, the ball just hit the fence. Yuuta told Ryoma that it would be impossible to just try hitting Super Rising and get it right. Ryoma just ignored them (typical of him). Again, during the match, Ryoma tried using Super Rising for the second time, this time he almost nailed it! It was still out though, but only about 2-3 inches from the line. Everyone was surprised at Ryoma, they were awed at how he tried to return Yuuta's Twist Spin Shot and how he fast he learned the Super Rising.

It's been 4-1 in favor of Yuuta, but it's now Ryoma's turn to serve. He's got this really eerie smile once again before serving. Yuuta was unperturbed even if he saw the awesome return Ryoma made using his own Super Rising, Yuuta feels that Ryoma couldn't beat his Twist Spin Shot. So he did one intense Twist Spin Shot. Ryoma hurriedly ran towards the net to the shock of everyone. They all though that Ryoma's running too fast if he's hoping to return the ball using a Super Rising, Yuuta thought Ryoma panicked. This lauched Ryoma to go "Mada Mada Dane" and to everyone's surprise, Ryoma did a strange sliding and hit the ball really high. Yuuta felt that the ball would be out of bounds since it's been hit really high, but he never imagined the ball to drastically curve and hit the court. To say the least, the crowd quieted for a while in awe then cheered loudly. Ryoma told everyone the name of his new move, it's Drive B.

Ryoma then turned to Yuuta and told him straight-forwardly that he's sealed his left-hand killer move with his Drive B. Ryoma also told Yuuta (he's really became chatty on this match) that he knows that Yuuta's goal is to defeat his brother, but he (Ryoma) would aim higher than that. Yuuta became really annoyed but he's really starting to enjoy the game inwardly. Ryoma also told Yuuta to not use his Twist Spin Shot anymore. This suprised Mizuki since he didn't know how Ryoma could possibly know about the consequence of using the Twist Spin Shot. The game continued, it's full of Twist Spin Shot (Yuuta didn't heed Ryoma's advice not to use it anymore) and Ryoma's Drive B to counter it. Finally, it's Change Court time. Yuuta went to Mizuki who told him to put his practice of hitting the opponent on the left side of the face into practice. Mizuki stressed that Ryoma's body still doesn't forget the trauma of his incident on his left eye and that they could work it to their advantage. Yuuta just told Mizuki to let him face Ryoma on his own and that he wouldn't play that way. The game resumes, the crowd were really happy to watch a very good game that both players enjoy. Ryoma's Drive B is in full throttle while Yuuta's Twist Spin Shot is very intense. Finally, the game was decided after Ryoma hit one last Drive B. The match is now over, 6-4 to Ryoma.

As the match ended, both players came to the net to shake hands, Yuuta's really looking happy than before and he admitted his complete defeat. Ryoma just told him kiddingly that Yuuta's just too weak for him. Yuuta just sputtered angrily to Ryoma's arrogant behaviour but after a while, Yuuta just smiled. Yuuta thought that his brother's got a monster as a kouhai (lower-class men).

Now it's Fuji's turn to play against St. Rudolph's manager. Fuji apologized to Tezuka that they wouldn't be able to reach Singles 1 because he's going to end it with his match against Mizuki. (Uh-Oh, big brother's angry). Fuji knows just how dangerous the move Twist Spin Shot that Mizuki taught Yuuta for Yuut'as shoulder and he's really not happy.

Someone's going to pay. Dearly.
