Episode 51: Inui's Challenge

So the game is yet to start. Inui told Tezuka confidently that he'll be taking this game away from him. The game started. The first part of the game, Tezuka won, making it 1-0. Then Inui made a comeback, making it a tie. Anyway, everyone was shocked because of the different Inui that's on the court with their Captain. Shiba and Inoue were really impressed with how Inui plays this time. Coach Ryuzaki told them that Inui's really tenacious today, add that to his determination to defeat Tezuka. Kawamura even told the first years that Inui really really wanted to beat Tezuka since they were first years. Kawamura added that Inui haven't had the chance to defeat Tezuka before, even after they've played 20-30 games in total. Kawamura informed the first years that no one in the club has defeated Tezuka before. Hearing this, Ryoma's eyebrow twitched (I think he's itching to beat Tezuka).

So anyway, the match between Tezuka and Inui is now tied 3-3. Arai was surprised since no one ever took 3 games from their Captain. Anyway, Oishi began telling everyone about Inui's obsession to beat Tezuka. The scene were rewinded 1 year ago when Tezuka was playing against some random player during practice. Oishi noticed that Inui was scribbling and watching Tezuka's game. Oishi opted to look at what Inui was writing and was surprised to see his own data there. Inui clarified that he only took Oishi's data when he was playing Tezuka since he needed data regarding Tezuka's different style in playing every opponent.

Anyway, back to the game, Tezuka's drop shots weren't working on Inui for he could calculate everything Tezuka does: his lobs, straights, cross and even his pride, the drop-shot! So, it seemed like Tezuka's in a pinch now. Anyway, Tezuka tried using his Drop Shot once again. However, Inui now knows when Tezuka's going to use it. It seems that Inui could already read Tezuka's habits, so he countered Tezuka's Drop Shot. He told Tezuka that whenever he's planning on using the drop shot, he lowers his racket for about 3.2mm! (what a precision!) and he told Tezuka that for once, he wanted to go to the top. The regulars were really catatonic still, but Kikumaru cheered that it's time to see Tezuka lose some (XD). Anyway, it's now 4-3 to Inui. It seems like Inui's winning, but suddenly out of nowhere, Tezuka hit a shot that amazes Inui and shocked everyone, especially Oishi, who gasped "What was that, Tezuka?!" The shot itself wasn't shown (yet), instead, Tezuka turned his back to Inui and told him that they'll continue the match and it isn't finished.
